Using this website
You are welcome to use every tool here freely, for yourself, your family or your temple. Please do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site, its database or other people's records.
The Panchangam and calculators are information, not advice
Our Panchangam is computed from astronomical positions using Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, Amanta lunar months and sunrise-based day values, in Indian Standard Time. Our methodology page sets out exactly how, and where our figures can legitimately differ from your family almanac.
We offer calendar and Dharma information. We do not offer horoscopes, predictions or remedies, and we will never tell you that an offering fixes a problem or that Seva is required of you. Where our dates differ from your family's Sampradaya or your Purohit's guidance, they take precedence over this website, always. For any decision that matters to you, please confirm with your Purohit. We accept no liability for a decision taken solely on the basis of a date shown here.
What a donation is
A donation to Kāmya is a voluntary offering towards the care of rescued cows. It is not a purchase, and it does not buy a service, a product, ownership of an animal, or any right over an animal.
- Sponsoring or "adopting" a cow means funding a share of her care. She remains in Kāmya's care at the gaushala. You do not acquire ownership, custody or any right to remove or direct the treatment of any animal.
- ₹299 a day is our working cost figure for one day of care for one cow, explained in full in Why ₹299 a day. It is a costing average, not a promise that your specific rupees are spent on one specific animal on one specific day.
- Directed donations (Fodder Seva, Medical Seva, Rescue Seva, Rishabha Seva) are applied to that purpose. If we ever receive more for a purpose than that purpose can absorb, we will apply the balance to the general care of the herd, because the animals' immediate needs come first.
- Certificates and gift cards generated on this site are commemorative. They are not tax documents, not financial instruments, and carry no monetary or redeemable value.
Tax exemption
We do not currently publish an 80G registration number. Until a number appears on this page and on your receipt, please assume that a donation to Kāmya carries no tax deduction. We will not imply otherwise anywhere on this site, in any email, or on any receipt.
Payments and receipts
Donations are currently made by direct bank transfer to our Axis Bank account, shown on the Donate page. No card or UPI checkout is live yet, which also means no payment gateway sits between you and us. You transfer from your own bank app, so you remain in control of the transaction throughout.
After transferring, please fill the short form on the Donate page with your reference or UTR number. A person checks each entry against our bank statement, so a receipt is not instant. If a week passes without a receipt, please chase us; it means something went wrong at our end, not yours.
We will never ask you for an OTP, a PIN, a card number, your internet-banking password, or remote access to your device. Nobody from Kāmya will ever telephone you to ask for those. If someone does, it is not us.
Refunds and corrections
Donations are voluntary offerings and are, as a rule, not refundable, because the money is committed to feed and veterinary care very quickly. That said, we are not in the business of keeping money that was never meant for us:
- Duplicate or mistaken transfer — you pressed send twice, or typed ₹10,000 instead of ₹1,000. Tell us within 14 days and we will verify it against our statement and return the excess to the same bank account it came from.
- A transfer that was not yours — if funds reached us through fraud or an unauthorised use of your account, tell us as soon as you know and we will co-operate fully with you and your bank.
- Wrong purpose or wrong details on a receipt — we will correct and re-issue the receipt. Just tell us what it should say.
- Refunds go back to the originating bank account only, never to a different account, and never in cash. Please allow us up to 14 working days after verification.
To raise any of these, contact us using the details in the footer with the date, amount and UTR number of the transfer.
Visits and Seva days
Visits are by prior arrangement. A gaushala is a working farm with large animals: please follow the caretakers' instructions at all times, keep children within arm's reach, and accept that any visit may be rescheduled at short notice if the safety or calm of the animals requires it. Group sizes are limited for the same reason. Attend at your own risk and use common sense around the animals.
Photographs and content
The photographs on this site are of real cows in Kāmya's care. Please do not reuse them commercially without asking. You are welcome to share the gift cards and certificates you generate here, including on social media — that is what they are for.
Accounts
Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a single-use link. Please keep your email account secure, since anyone with access to it could request a link. Tell us if you think your account has been misused. We may suspend an account being used to abuse the site.
