Cows love being brushed. Slow, gentle work, and the fastest way to make a four-legged friend.

The least glamorous Seva and the most valuable. Clean sheds mean healthy hooves and calm animals.

Every activity is supervised, and group sizes are kept small to protect the animals’ calm and everyone’s safety. Registering tells us you are coming so we can plan the morning around you.

Before you register
When
Mornings, any day, by arrangementFeeding, grooming and goshala work all happen early. There is no fixed volunteer roster — we schedule around the herd and around who is available to supervise you.
Notice
Two days is comfortableLonger for a group or a company team, because we plan caretaker time and Prasadam around you.
How long
Three to four hoursMost people come for a morning. Stay longer if you are enjoying yourself; nobody will hurry you out.
How many
Small enough that nobody is unsupervisedTell us your number when you register and we will confirm what works for that date, or offer another.
What to bring
Clothes and shoes you do not mind ruiningIt is a farm. Bring water, and a hat if you burn easily. We provide everything else.
Age
Children very welcome, with an adult beside themCows are gentle and also very large. A child should always be within arm’s reach of a grown-up.
Skills volunteering
Remote is fineVeterinary, farming, design, legal, accounting and teaching help does not need you at the gaushala. Tell us what you do and we will tell you honestly whether we need it right now.
