Ephemeris

Ayanamsa
Lahiri (Chitrapaksha), linear approximation 23.853° + 0.013967°/year from 2000Matches mainstream Indian practice within about 2 arc-minutes; boundary times may differ by a few minutes from professional software.
Lunar month
Amanta (month ends on Amavasya), the Telugu and South Indian conventionMonth named from the Sun's sidereal rashi at the month's starting new moon. Adhika masa is not yet separately labelled.
Day values
Tithi and Nakshatra "of the day" are taken at local sunrise (udaya)Sunrise computed for your selected city. All times IST.
Rahu Kalam family
Daylight (sunrise to sunset) divided into 8 parts, standard weekday segmentsRahu, Yamagandam and Gulika per the common South Indian table; Abhijit as the middle 1/15th of daylight.
Festival dates
Computed by masa + paksha + tithi rules, at sunriseEach festival date our engine produces for 2026 and 2027 was compared, one by one, against published Telugu panchangam listings for the same year — Janmashtami, Navaratri, Deepavali, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Maha Shivaratri, Gopashtami and Ugadi among them — and the Choghadiya and Rahu Kalam tables were checked against widely used published tables for the same city and date. Where you find a disagreement, please tell us: we would rather correct the engine than defend it. Observances defined by midnight or afternoon tithis can differ by one day between traditions.
Shraddha Tithi
Tithi, paksha and masa at the moment provided, and the next sunrise-tithi matchSome traditions follow the Aparahna tithi instead. Always confirm the exact observance with your family Acharya or Purohit.
Privacy
All birth and remembrance calculations run entirely on your deviceNothing you type into a calculator is transmitted to us, and no account is needed to use any of them. Your saved city and any dates you keep stay in your own browser. The one exception is deliberate and yours to make: if you create a My Seva account and press sync, the dates you chose to save are copied to our database so they survive a lost phone. Your birth details themselves are never part of that. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
This methodology follows the conventions of mainstream Telugu panchangams. If your family follows a different Sampradaya (Purnimanta months, a different ayanamsa, or regional festival rules), your almanac may differ, and your tradition takes precedence. This page will be updated as our Acharya reviews and refines the conventions.
