The short version
- Every Panchangam and calculator on this site runs entirely inside your browser. Your birth date, birth time and place are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- We only receive information you deliberately type into a form and submit.
- We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing, ever.
- We do not use advertising trackers, and we set no cookies of our own.
What we never collect
The Panchangam, Choghadiya, Janma Nakshatra, Janma Tithi, Shraddha Tithi, Mahalaya and Hindu Calendar tools are computed on your own device from astronomical formulae. Nothing you enter into them reaches our servers. If you save dates in My Dharma Calendar, they are written to your browser's local storage and stay on that device unless you deliberately press the sync button inside My Seva. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and we cannot recover them for you.
What we collect, and only when you submit it
- Donation receipt requests: your name, nakshatra, gothram, email, mobile number, the amount and date, your bank reference or UTR number, and a payment screenshot if you upload one. We need these to match your transfer against our bank statement and to issue your receipt.
- Visit and Go-Seva requests: name, mobile, preferred date, group size and what Seva you would like to do.
- Cow sponsorship and gift requests: the names and details you choose to enter, including the recipient's name if you are giving a gift.
- Accounts (My Seva): if you sign in, your email address. We use passwordless sign-in links, so we never see, store or ask for a password.
Uploaded payment screenshots are stored in a private bucket that is not publicly readable. Only signed-in Kāmya administrators can open them, through short-lived links.
Visitor statistics
We count page views so we know which parts of the site are useful. When you first arrive, a random identifier is generated in your browser and stored there; it contains nothing about you and is not linked to your name, email or any form you submit. We record the page path, whether the screen is phone-sized or larger, and the referring website if you came from one. We do not record your IP address in these statistics, we do not fingerprint your device, and we set no cookies for this. One visit per page per browsing session is recorded, so refreshing does not inflate anything.
Our host, Vercel, also collects aggregate performance and page-view data for the site. Vercel processes your IP address to serve the page, as any web host must.
Other services this site relies on
Loading a page makes requests to a small number of third parties, which necessarily see your IP address:
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of every page.
- Supabase — the database and file storage behind our forms, accounts and statistics. Hosted in Asia Pacific.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — the typefaces used throughout.
- jsDelivr — delivers the open-source astronomy library used for the Panchangam calculations.
- Simple Icons — the small social-media icons in the footer.
- Resend — sends sign-in links and receipt emails on our behalf.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to press a WhatsApp button, which opens a conversation in WhatsApp under Meta's own terms.
How long we keep things
Donation records and receipts are kept for as long as we are required to keep financial records, and because a donor may ask us for a copy years later. Visit and volunteering requests are kept while they are useful for planning and then removed. Visitor statistics are aggregate and are not tied to you.
Your choices
You can ask us to send you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to us using the contact details in the footer of this page, from the email address or mobile number you gave us, and we will act on it. Deleting a donation record may mean we can no longer issue or re-issue a receipt for that donation.
To clear everything this site has stored in your own browser, clear site data for kamyafoundation.com in your browser settings, or press Forget this device in My Seva.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child. Children are extremely welcome at the gaushala itself, with an adult.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and update the date at the top. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
