The festival
Gopashtami, on Kartika Shukla Ashtami, remembers the day young Krishna was entrusted with the cows of Vrindavana for the first time, graduating from calf-herd to cowherd. Cows are bathed, decorated, garlanded and worshipped.

This is the most important day of the Kāmya year: our annual Gopashtami Utsavam with Go-Puja, procession, Anna Seva and a full family Seva day. If you visit the gaushala once a year, make it this day.
